I am working in tube manufacturing company.I make various material tubes,we use HCl,nitric acid & HF mixure in stainless steel , l, , , l, TI, , , l, monel & other monel grades, Inconel, , ; alloy steel, carbon steel, mild steel, Hastelloy, etc. in pickling & passivation process, but we do not satisfy. Pickling or bright dipping in acid can remove this magnetic film and restore the non-magnetic properties. The corrosion resistance of alloy K is substantially equivalent to that of Monel® except that when in the age-hardened condition, nickel alloy K has a greater tendency toward stress-corrosion cracking in some environments.

•Group E: Contains Monel R only. This alloy is designed for high production rates in automatic bar and chucking machines. Monel R combines the toughness, strength, and corrosion resistance of Monel with excellent machinability. However surface finish quality is not as good as Monel .   She recommends not only ceasing to use the copper pipe, but to dispose of any pickles already made using the copper pipe. Since this is an older recipe, just a reminder to make sure you use 5% acidity vinegar and that the pickles are either processed or stored in the refrigerator once made.

In-house pickling and passivation High Silicon Steel In addition to chromium and nickel, the (Bohler A) austenitic steel contains about 4% silicon, making it corrosion resistant to high concentrated nitric acid.

60, q&a topics -- education, aloha, & fun topic cleaning up monel after fabrication we are mainly a stainless steel fabrication firm supplying customers from start to finish of stainless steel weldments and received a request to fabricate and weld monel and would like to know possible cleaning processes for the surface of monel using sand wheel?, cloth wheels.

The rate of steel pickling is affected by the type of acid used, acid concentration, temperature, inhibitor concentration, and agitation. Figure 1 and Figure 2 give examples of possible pickling times based on acid type, concentration, and temperature. The graphs show the time it takes to pickle steel decreases with elevated temperatures in.

Steel pickling refers to a treatment that is used to remove impurities, rust, and scale from the surface of a material. During hot working processes, an oxide layer (referred to as “scale”, due to the scaly nature of its appearance) develops on the surface of the metal.

Question: What are the Standards, Protocols, and Recommendation on the Use of Alloy Chain Slings in Acid, Pickling, Chemical Bath or Dip Applications. Answer: The use of alloy chain in acid or pickling solutions is not recommended.

Specifically designed stainless steel or low alloy chain and accessories are preferred. Hot-rolled steel, for example, develops an oxide layer when worked. The presence of this oxide prevents the steel from obtaining a smooth and clean surface.

Although there are numerous ways to remove oxide from steel, manufacturing companies often prefer pickling because of its simplicity. Arrow Fastener M1 Genuine T50 1/4-Inch Monel Rust Proof Staples, 1,Pack.

Monel is a Nickel-Copper alloy, resistant to sea water and steam at high temperatures as well as to salt and caustic solutions.

Monel is a nickel-copper alloy with excellent corrosion resistance in a wide variety of media. Monel is characterized by good general corrosion resistance, good weldability and moderate to high strength. The use of Nickel is limited to air-free equipments at temperatures below 80oC.

It offers the highest resistance to hot anhydrous hydrogen fluoride. Monel The Monel alloy is used in hydrofluoric acid alkylation systems and in the development and handling of hydrofluoric acid.

It offers supreme resistance to liquid hydrofluoric acid. use of suitable chlorine-free and chloride-free degreasing agents is highly effective [4]. The disposal of pickle liquor is a growing problem, tending to limit im-mersion pickling to those fabricators and chemical cleaning contrac - tors who have pickling tanks and approved disposal arrangements [1].

work [11]. Usually, under pickling is the direct results of a lack of control over the above-cited process variables, thus many studies have been proposed on control of pickling process that use neural network model [13,14] or a hybrid grey box modelling [15], in order to model the steel pickling process.

The use. Pickling is a metal surface treatment used to remove impurities, such as stains, inorganic contaminants, rust or scale from ferrous metals, copper, precious metals and aluminum alloys.

A solution called pickle liquor, which usually contains acid, is used to remove the surface is commonly used to descale or clean steel in various steelmaking processes.

Delstar Metal Finishing, Inc.'s User's Guide to Electropolishing summarizes much of what has been written about electropolishing in textbooks, magazines, technical journals, and handbooks, and it is believed to be accurately represented.

Reference is often made to stainless steel in the singular sense as if it were one material. Actually there are over 50 stainless steel alloys.

Three general classifications are used to identify stainless steels. They are: 1. Metallurgical Structure. The AISI numbering system: namely, and Series numbers. Melting point is 55°°C (°F) lower than SAE steel, tending to allow faster welding for the same heat or less heat for the same speed. Magnetic up.

For this reason, a thin film of oil or similar waterproof coating is applied to create a barrier to moisture in the air. This oil film must later be removed for many fabrication, plating or painting processes.

The system remained, however, essentially batch pickling in sulfuric acid. The Industrial Revolution The huge increase in demand for strip steel for automobiles and cans eventually led to the development of continuous strip picklers, in which the uncoiled strip was drawn continuously.
